Core Content for Assessment

 

 

Resources: a streamed video to introduce the genre of Science Fiction called "Literature for Children: Science Fiction" from Pied Piper, the video "C.L.U.T.Z." and various science fiction books.

Lesson Plan:

Week 1: Students will be introduced to the genre of Science Fiction  by viewing the streamed video from Pied Piper.  The Library Media Specialist will also have examples of science fiction books on display to check out and book talk. 

Week 2: Students will view the Science Fiction video "C.L.U.T.Z".

Week 3: The Library Media Specialist will read passages from various science fiction books, booktalk others and have some on display for checkout.

Week 4: Students will

Assessment: The Library Media Specialist will assess students visually as they select a variety of genre from the fiction section.
