Resources: Various books and videos by Tomie DePaola

Lesson Plan:

Week 1: Students will be introduced to Tomie DePaola by viewing the video about his life, A Visit Tomie DePaola.

Week 2 and Week 3: Students will learn more about Tomie DePaola by listening to his autobiography "26 Fairmount Avenue".

Week 4:  Students will listen to the books Now One Foot, now the Other and Oliver Button is a Sissy.

Week 3: Students will listen to the books The Art Lesson and Tom.

Week 4: Students will watch the video Strega Nona.

Assessment: Students will be assessed visually by the Library Media Specialist as they select books from the picture book section.
